Pilates is not just about exercises and choreography.  Advance yourself as a Pilates student or enhance yourself as a teacher!  This training will challenge you to look deeper into body movement in both stability and mobility.  The Legacy Pilates, Yoga & More Mat program is based on the program developed by the PhysicalMind Institute, the original Pilates certifying company in the U.S.   EB = Earlybird price; 30 days before class starts.  A 10% ($249) discount will apply to full payments of all 5 modules before the first earlybird date (regular earlybird price = $2475; EB $2226).

PILATES MAT 1 TEACHER TRAINING - $525/ EB $495
Sundays, April 28 & May 5, 2019  9:00-4:30 BOTH DAYS
Prerequisites: Experience with Beginner level exercises on the Mat
The Mat 1 program consists of Anatomy, Pilates Fundamentals, Postural Considerations and Student Teaching.
On completion of the Mat Teacher Training course, students will be able to:
  • Teach a Basic Pilates class in a private or group environment
  • Identify the names and sequencing of Basic Pilates exercises
  • Apply biomechanical principles to Pilates exercises
  • Learn, experience and teach modifications to the exercises
  • Discuss the benefits of verbal, visual and tactile cuing
  • Discover and discuss how the mind and breath work can hinder or help movement During the training you will have the opportunity to practice, teach and observe the exercises which all enhance learning and absorption of the materials.  
  • 10 hours each of observation, teaching and practicing are required for the Certificate of Completion (30 hours total).
  • Can be taken alone but, is not a full Mat Certification.
You will receive the PhysicalMind Institute Pilates Mat Manual. 
 
PILATES MAT 2 TEACHER TRAINING - $525/ EB $495
Sundays, May 26 & June 2, 2019 9:00-4:30pm
Prerequisites: Mat 1
Perfecting the understanding and information presented in Mat 1, this class will introduce the Intermediate and Advanced Exercises and build skills on noticing imbalances, adjusting students, modifications and additional floor equipment.
On completion of the Mat 2 Teacher Training course, students will be able to:
  •  Teach an Intermediate and Advanced Pilates class in a private or group environment
  • Identify the names and sequencing of Intermediate and Advanced Pilates exercises
  • Work with various small tools such as balls, bands, rings, rollers and more
  • After completion of all requirements, exams, and Mat 1, a full Mat Certificate will be provided.
10 hours each of observation, teaching and practicing are required for the Certificate of Completion (30 hours total).

PILATES EQUIPMENT TEACHER TRAINING $525/ EB $495 per module
This training will consist of 3 modules.  See the last paragraph for discounts for the whole program.

1.  Reformer 1
Sunday, June 26, 2019 9:00-4:30pm (*second date TBD)
This class will continue discussing Anatomy, Pilates Fundamentals, Effective Teaching, Postural Considerations and Student Teaching.
Prerequisites: Knowledge of  the Beginner and Intermediate Level exercises on the Mat and Reformer. 
Mat 1 & 2 certifications or training.
On completion of the Reformer 1 Teacher Training course, students will be able to:
  • Identify the names and sequencing of Basic & Intermediate Pilates exercises on the Reformer.
  • Teach a Pilates class in a private or group environment.
  • Apply biomechanical principles to Pilates exercises.
  • Learn, experience and teach modifications of the exercises.
  • During the training you will have the opportunity to practice, teach and observe the exercises which all enhance learning and absorption of the materials.  
You will receive the PMI Reformer Manual and miscellaneous materials.
50 hours each of observation, teaching and practicing are required for the Certificate of Completion (150 hours total).

2.  Reformer 2
Sundays,  August 4 & 18, 2019, 9:00-4:30pm
Perfecting the understanding and information presented in Reformer 1, this class will introduce the Intermediate and Advanced Reformer Exercises. 
Prerequisites:  Mat 1 & 2 and Reformer 1.
On completion of the Reformer 2 Teacher Training course, students will be able to:
  •  Teach an Intermediate and Advanced Pilates Reformer class in a private or group environment
  • Identify the names and sequencing of Intermediate and Advanced Pilates exercises
  • During the training you will have the opportunity to practice, teach and observe the exercises which all enhance learning and absorption of the materials.
  • Both Reformer 1 & 2 are required to obtain the Reformer Certification.
The Reformer 1 Manual will be used for this program. 
Miscellaneous materials may be provided.
50 hours each of observation, teaching and practicing are required for the Certificate of Completion (150 hours total).
 
3.  Miscellaneous Equipment/Apparatus
Sundays,  June 2 & 23, 2019, 9:00-4:30pm
This class will introduce some of the miscellaneous Pilates Equipment working on Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced repertoire.   
Prerequisites:  Mat 1 & 2 and Reformer 1 & 2.
On completion of the Miscellaneous Equipment Teacher Training course, students will be able to:
  • Identify the names and sequencing of basic/intermediate Pilates exercises on the Tower, Combo Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector/Clara Barrel and small tools such as rollers, rings and more (Cadillac might be added).
  • Teach any Pilates class in a private or group environment.
  • Apply biomechanical principles to Pilates exercises.
  • Learn, experience and teach modifications of the exercises.
During the training you will have the opportunity to practice, teach and observe the exercises which all enhance learning and absorption of the materials.  
50 hours each of observation, teaching and practicing are required for the Certificate of Completion (150 hours total).

Other things to consider:
  • Please be on time for your classes. 
  • Any missed hours must be done privately with a LPYM Teacher (i.e., 2 hours missed = 2 hours private @ $85/hr).  In order to receive a Certificate of Completion, ALL workshop, practice, observation and teaching hours MUST be completed, documented and submitted for review for EACH module.
  • Up to 50% of observation hours can be completed using DVDs and online programs. At least 50% required hours must be completed in a studio with a certified teacher. 
  • Each trainee receives 50% off regular drop-in prices for appropriate LPYM classes for up to 3 months following the training workshop.  For example, Mat trainees get 50% off floor classes.  Reformer trainees get 50% off equipment classes.  Trainees going through the whole program can opt to pay for the unlimited 48-week studio package at 10% off. 
  • The price per module is $525 with early bird at $495. Payment up front for all 5 modules is $2222 (reg $2475; $253 off). Another option is to make payments of $262.50 bi-monthly for each modulel (arrangements for payments need to be made with Cindy). 
  • Certificates will be distributed after payment is made in full.
  • Observation and practice teaching hours are included in the module fee/s if the trainee is taking classes at our studio.  Observing privates, semi-privates, training or classes are prohibited unless paying for the appropriate session. 
  • No refunds. Credit can be applied towards a program within one year.
